Edits are not being tracked

Make sure the plugin is installed and enabled in Settings → Plugins. Rat only tracks saves to canonical elements — drafts, revisions, and propagating saves are intentionally excluded.

Dashboard widget not showing

Navigate to your Craft dashboard and click the New Widget button. Select Recent Edits from the list. If it doesn't appear, verify that Rat is installed and enabled.

Sidebar not appearing on elements

The sidebar panel only appears on element edit pages after at least one edit has been tracked for that element. New elements will show the sidebar after their first save.

Commerce elements not tracked

Rat automatically detects Craft Commerce. Make sure Commerce is installed and enabled. No additional configuration is needed — Commerce element types (products, variants, orders) are tracked automatically.

Database table growing too large

Use the cleanup method to remove old logs. The default retention period is 90 days. You can schedule this via a cron job to keep the table size manageable.
